The European Banking Authority (EBA) has published draft regulatory technical standards (RTS) and draft implementing technical standards (ITS) pursuant to the mandates set out in Articles 8(2) and 8(3) of the Capital Requirements Directive IV.

Specifically:

  • the RTS set out the information to be provided in applications for the authorisation of credit institutions. The aim of the RTS is to simplify the application process, given that the information to be provided will be harmonised across all EU Member States; and
  • the ITS seek to set out a clear framework for submitting the application for authorisation, including its completeness and its accuracy.

The draft RTS and ITS have been simultaneously submitted to the European Commission its endorsement.
