The European Banking Authority (EBA) has published a consultation paper on draft regulatory technical standards (RTS) on disclosure of information relating to the compliance of institutions with the requirement for a countercyclical capital buffer under Article 440 of the Capital Requirements Regulation (the CRR).

The consultation paper sets out two disclosure templates, which take the form of tables. The first template requires institutions to disclose the geographical distribution by country of exposure value and own fund requirements for an institution’s exposures that are relevant for the calculation of its countercyclical buffer in accordance with Article 140(4) of the CRD IV Directive. The geographical location of the relevant credit exposure is identified per earlier regulatory technical standards developed by the EBA. The second template requires institutions to disclose the amount of institution specific countercyclical capital buffer in accordance with Article 440(1)(b) of the CRR.

The consultation closes on 27 September 2014.
