In November 2015, the FCA published the terms of reference for its asset management market study. The aim of the study will be to understand whether competition is working effectively to enable investors to get value for money when purchasing asset management services.

The FCA has now announced that it will publish the interim report in Q4 2016. The interim report which the FCA is in the process of finalising, will set out those areas that the regulator believes raise concerns and those where no or few problems have been found. The FCA will shortly be approaching market participants to discuss the information and data necessary to enable it to assess the relevant issues, as well as hosting roundtable and bilateral meetings with stakeholders. The FCA expects to publish the final report in early 2017.
