There has been published in the Official Journal of the EU (OJ) the Commission Implementing Regulation of 7 June 2016 on the extension of the transitional periods related to own funds requirements for exposures to central counterparties set out in the Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR) and the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR). The Implementing Regulation enters into force on the third day following its publication in the OJ.

The Implementing Regulation notes that the 15 month periods referred to in paragraphs 1 and 2 of Article 497 of the CRR (own funds requirements for exposures to central counterparties) and in the first and second subparagraphs of paragraph 5a of Article 89 EMIR (transitional provisions), as extended by an earlier Implementing Regulation (No.1317/2014) are extended by an additional 6 months until 15 December 2016.
