The Council of the EU has published an information note from the General Secretariat to the Permanent Representatives Committee (COREPER) on the outcome of the European Parliament’s first reading of the proposed Regulation on European Long-Term Investment Funds. The note explains that:
- at first reading the Parliament’s Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) presented a report consisting of one amendment to the proposed Regulation. In addition, the European People’s Party tabled one amendment;
- the Parliament adopted both the tabled amendments when it voted on 17 April 2014; and
- the vote on the legislative resolution was postponed to a later session, therefore not bringing the Parliament’s first reading to a close. The proposal was instead referred back to ECON, pursuant to Rule 57(2) of the Parliament’s rules of procedure.
The note states that the text of the proposed Regulation, as amended, is annexed to the note. However, the text has not yet been published.
