The Council of the EU (the Council) has published an information note from the General Secretariat to the Permanent Representatives Committee on the outcome of the European Parliament’s second reading of the Directive recasting the Deposit Guarantee Schemes Directive (recast DGSD).
In the note, the General Secretariat explains that:
- as no amendment had been adopted, the President of the Parliament declared the Council’s position at first reading approved;
- as the Parliament has approved the Council’s position at first reading, the recast DGSD is deemed to have been adopted in the wording that corresponds to the Council’s position, as provided for in Article 294(7) of the Treaty of the Functioning of the EU; and
- after signature by the President of the Parliament, the President of the Council and the Secretaries-General of both institutions, the recast DGSD will be published in the Official Journal of the EU.
