The Council of the EU (the Council) has published an information note from the General Secretariat to the Permanent Representatives Committee on the outcome of the European Parliament’s first reading of the Directive on payment services in the internal market (PSD2) on 2 and 3 April 2014.
In the note, the General Secretariat explains that:
- the European Parliament’s Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee (ECON) submitted 201 amendments to PSD2 (amendments 1 to 201). In addition, the Europe of Freedom & Democracy political group tabled two amendments (amendment 202 and 203); and
- when the Parliament voted in plenary on 2 April 2014, it adopted the 201 amendments submitted by ECON. No other amendments were adopted.
The adopted amendments are set out in the Annex to the note.
