The Council of the EU has published an “I” item note from its General Secretariat to the Permanent Representatives Committee (COREPER) containing the latest compromise proposal on the proposed Regulation on indices used as benchmarks in financial instruments and financial contracts.

The latest proposal is supported by all delegations, and as such COREPER is invited to agree on the negotiating mandate and invite the Presidency of the Council of the EU to start negotiations with the European Parliament on the basis of that mandate with a view to reaching an agreement at first reading.
