The Council of the EU has published a press release announcing that its Permanent Representatives Committee (COREPER) has, on the Council’s behalf, agreed a general approach on the proposed Fourth Money Laundering Directive and the proposed revised Wire Transfer Regulation.

COREPER called on the future Italian Presidency of the Council to start trialogue negotiations with the European Parliament once the Parliament has resumed work following the recent elections, with a view to adopting the new rules at early second reading.
