The Council of the EU (the Council) has published an “I” item note from its General Secretariat to its Permanent Representatives Committee (COREPER) concerning the legislative proposals to extend, by one year, the date of application and certain other dates contained in MiFID II and MiFIR.

COREPER is asked to approve the final compromise text and confirm that the Council Presidency can indicate to the European Parliament that, should the European Parliament adopt its position at first reading as regards the legislative proposals, the Council would approve the European Parliament’s position and the draft legislation would be adopted.
