The Council of the EU has published a press release announcing that its Permanent Representatives Committee (COREPER) has approved, on the Council’s behalf, an agreement reached with the European Parliament on the proposed Regulation on key information documents (KID) for packaged retail investment products (PRIPs). The Council has also published the final compromise text approved by COREPER. COREPER’s agreement will now enable the Regulation to be adopted at first reading before the Parliament adjourns for elections at the end of May 2014. After this, the Council will then be able to adopt the Regulation without further discussion.
