The Consumer Rights Bill has completed its first reading (in which there was no debate) and its second reading, in which the Opposition raised, among other things, concerns that the Bill did not adequately address the lack of competition in the markets and a consumer’s lack of information with which to make an informed choice. The Bill has now been committed to a Public Bill Committee which must complete its proceedings by 13 March 2014.
