The House of Commons’ European Scrutiny Committee has published its 32nd report of the 2016-17 Parliamentary session. In the report, the Committee considers the legislative proposals adopted in November 2016 by the European Commission in relation to the amendments to the Capital Requirements Regulation, the Capital Requirements Directive IV, the revisions to the Bank Recovery and Resolution Directive and the implementation in the EU of the Financial Stability Board’s total loss absorbing capacity standard. The report contains information on how the UK Government will approach these proposals. The UK Government expects that final adoption of these EU reforms will take place no earlier than late 2018 or early 2019.
