The European Commission (the Commission) has published a document setting out its agenda and timetable for legislative proposals and non-legislative acts under its 2016 work programme.

The initiatives listed include a:

  • proposal for a Regulation on the recovery  and resolution of central counterparties, due for publication in Q3 2016;
  • possible proposal for amendments to the Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR) to incorporate modifications to the Basel III framework and findings from various reviews required under the CRR due for publication in Q4 2016;
  • Commission Implementing Regulation laying down implementing technical standards with regards to the obligation to cooperate due in April 2016; and
  • Commission Delegated Regulation with regard to regulatory technical standards on the determination of trading obligation for derivatives due in September 2016.
