There has been published in the Official Journal of the EU (OJ), the Commission Implementing Regulation laying down implementing technical standards (ITS) with regard to the content and format of the description of the functioning of multilateral trading facilities (MTFs) and organised trading facilities (OTFs).

The Implementing Regulation enters into force on the twentieth day following its publication in the OJ. It applies from the date that appears in the second subparagraph of Article 93(1) of MiFID II.

The Implementing Regulation sets out information that investment firms and market operators operating MTFs and OTFs must provide to their Member State competent authority. It also provides that the Member State competent authority must notify the European Securities and Markets Authority of the authorisation of a relevant MTF or OTF operator in electronic format, the template of which is set out in table 2 of the annex.
