The Council of the EU has adopted the Regulation capping interchange fees for payments made with debit and credit cards. Adoption of the Regulation follows an agreement reached with the European Parliament at first reading. The Parliament approved the agreed text on 10 March 2015. The Regulation will enter into force on the twentieth day following its publication in the Official Journal of the EU.
