The European Banking Authority (EBA) has updated its questions and answers (Q&As) on the Single Rulebook which relate to the CRD IV package of reforms: the CRD IV Directive, the Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR), the related technical standards and guidelines developed by the European Banking Authority. It has amended the following questions:

  • the meaning of the “amount owed to the institution” for the purposes of Article 501 of the CRR;
  • applicability of the transitional period under Article 124(3) of the CRR;
  • definition of “SME” under Article 501 of the CRR;
  • outflows on other liabilities for operational accounts under Article 422 of the CRR; and
  • holdings of own fund instruments issued by financial sector entities included in the scope of consolidated supervision not deducted from own funds on an individual basis pursuant to Article 49 of the CRR.
