On 24 June 2025, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) published a new web page stating that its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bank of England, Prudential Regulation Authority and Payment Systems Regulator had been updated. The MoU sets out the high-level framework that the regulators use to cooperate with one another in relation to payments in the UK. The update follows an annual review of the MoU which now includes principles for regulatory cooperation to guide ways of working across areas like policy, supervision, authorisations, and strategy work. The FCA has also published an information sheet setting out how some of the authorities’ payments work fits together.
