The FCA has published a document that provides instructions for entities that will submit commodity derivative position reports to the FCA for processing. The document contains chapters on: (i) reporting principles (including a reporting timeline); (ii) data validation; and (iii) position report upload specifications. The Annexes to the report cover: (i) XML Schemas; (ii) file naming conventions; (iii) validation rules; and (iv) position report status examples.
The FCA states that to gain a complete understanding of the position reporting regime for commodity derivatives, it is advisable that the document is read in conjunction with the final draft MAR 10 sourcebook as published in Policy Statement 17/5: Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II Implementation – Policy Statement I.
