The Presidency of the Council of the EU has published its first compromise proposal relating to the proposed Directive that amends the Fourth Anti- Money Laundering Directive (4MLD). The cover note for the compromise proposal states that with respect to the original European Commission legislative proposal, new text is marked in underlined bold and deletions are indicated in strikethrough. Among other things the compromise proposal changes the draft Directive’s transposition deadline from 1 January 2017 to 26 June 2017. This brings it into line with the transposition date of the 4MLD which is also 26 June 2017.
