On 29 June 2026, the European Banking Authority (EBA) published a roadmap outlining how it will deliver its mandates under the revised Deposit Guarantee Schemes Directive (DGSD3).

The roadmap follows the publication of the Crisis Management and Deposit Insurance package in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJ). The DGSD3 and the revised Bank Recovery and Resolution Directive (BRRD3) were published in the OJ on 20 April 2026 with an application date of 11 May 2028. The key aim of the DGSD3 and BRRD3 is to open the possibility to use DGS funds in resolution. The DGSD3 includes 11 mandates for the EBA whilst the BRRD3 includes one further DGS-related mandate. The roadmap sets out the timing as to when the EBA will issue consultations and final deliverables on its mandate.
