On 14 August 2025, the Bank of England (BoE) added two new webpages: The National Payments Vision and The Vision Engagement Group.
The National Payments Vision sets out the Government’s ambition for a payments ecosystem delivered on next-generation technology, where consumers and businesses have a choice of payment methods to meet their needs. The Vision Engagement Group was established by the Payments Vision Delivery Committee (the Committee) to inform and support the work of the Committee. The Committee was established to ensure coordination between the regulators and provide a mechanism to facilitate prioritisation decisions on initiatives to enhance the retail payments infrastructure.
The BoE on the National Payments Vision website has set out key milestones for establishing the National Payments Vision in 2025. The Vision Engagement Group webpage outlines its finalised members and update on the delivery of next generation UK retail payments infrastructure.
