On 15 July 2025, HM Treasury issued its Consultation Response on the UK Green Taxonomy.

The key message in the Consultation Response is that after careful consideration, the government has concluded that a UK Taxonomy would not be the most effective tool to deliver the green transition and should not be part of the UK’s sustainable finance framework.
