On 20 May 2024, the Council of the EU published the text of the:
- Regulation establishing the Authority for Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism and amending Regulations (EU) No 1093/2010, (EU) No 1094/2010 and (EU) No 1095/2010 (2021/0240(COD).
- Regulation on the prevention of the use of the financial system for the purposes of money laundering or terrorist financing (2021/0239(COD).
- Directive on the mechanisms to be put in place by Member States for the prevention of the use of the financial system for the purposes of money laundering or terrorist financing, amending Directive (EU) 2019/1937, and amending and repealing Directive (EU) 2015/849 (2021/0250(COD).
On 24 April 2024, the European Parliament adopted the draft legislation.
The Council of the EU is to formally adopt the draft legislation, after which it will be published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
